Have a reliable partner on your side to ensure compliance.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released new Operational Reporting Guidance in the fall of 2022 and requested that states begin familiarizing themselves with it. Now that the pilot phase has ended, it is now required by CMS nationally. This includes all 13 Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) modules included in the Streamlined Modular Certification and the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) module. Public Knowledge® has subject matter experts readily available to provide guidance; we are sharing three ways to prepare to implement the Operational Reporting Guidance.
Familiarize Yourself with the Available Resources
CMS’s MES Certification Repository has extensive materials readily available to assist, which includes a Certification and Ongoing Reporting section to provide further support. It includes a list of activities by MES Certification Milestones, key takeaways for states, and additional resources.
Adopt the Streamline Modular Certification Approach
Once adopted, the next step is to integrate it into procurement, Advance Planning Documents, development and installation, and maintenance and operations of all new MES modules.
Understand the Impact
Having an understanding of how the Metrics and Ongoing Reporting impact MES modules that are in production and receiving enhanced federal funding is key.
