Julie Hicks DHA, MHP, PMP
Since 2018, Julie has been a management consultant at Public Knowledge®. She is responsible for managing the Electronic Visit Verification IV&V project with the states of Arizona and Hawaii, leading the Medicaid Management Information Systems team for the state of Colorado, and providing Medicaid subject matter expertise for the MMIS 2020 Platform Project for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Julie has over 25 years of experience as a business analyst, consultant, and project manager in health care administration, Medicaid program operations, MMIS Implementations, Medicare Part B operations, managed care, and as a state regulator. She brings extensive experience analyzing federal and state legislation and mandates and determining impacts to applicable programs, participants, and systems including those related to Medicaid, Medicaid Information Technical Architecture (MITA), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), training, and regulation compliance.
Julie received her doctorate in health care administration with a concentration in health policy and advocacy from Capella University, her Master’s in public health and a concentration in community health education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Julie is also a certified project manager from the Project Management Institute. When not working, Julie enjoys cooking, gardening, and hanging out with her husband, Scott, and fur baby, Murphy aka the “Blind Wonder Dog”!
