CASA of Laramie County’s Desperado Casino Night

September 19, 2025

Venue: In-Person

Public Knowledge® is joining court-appointed special advocates (CASA) of Laramie County, Wyoming, on September 19 for Desperado Casino Night. This event blends fun with purpose, with each game and auction bid helping provide advocacy and support for children in foster care through CASA.

A Keynote on Reimagining Child Welfare

This year’s event features Stacey Moss, President and CEO of Public Knowledge®, as keynote speaker. She will share insights from Families Belong Together: A Call to Replace the Child Welfare System, where she authored the foreword. The book highlights the lived experiences of families involved with the child welfare system and calls for meaningful change grounded in justice, dignity, and family integrity.

Advocating for Lasting Change

  • Too many families experience harm from a system meant to protect them.
  • Children thrive when their family bonds are preserved and strengthened.
  • Families Belong Together highlights how advocacy and reform can lead to lasting justice for children and families.

CASA and Families Belong Together both emphasize the importance of connection and stability for children in foster care. The support raised during this event helps CASA advocate for children and work toward keeping them close to the people who know and care for them.

PK is proud to join CASA in this work and to bring forward voices calling for change.
