SLI is providing quality control and consulting services to Colorado’s Department of Health Care Policy and Financing for their Integrated Eligibility, MMIS, and Interoperability Initiatives.
SILVER SPRING, MD (October 16th, 2019) SLI Government Solutions has been awarded an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) contract to provide certification review and project progress assessment services for Colorado’s Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF). SLI is providing resources to conduct IV&V reviews and assessments across multiple modernization components; including Integrated Eligibility, MMIS, and Interoperability Initiatives. This five-year contract covers all new systems modules or modification to existing Medicaid Systems and, prospectively, new systems coming online under the ARRA-HITECH Projects and/or any other Medicaid Enterprises Projects.
HCPF develops and implements policy and financing for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, called CHP+ in Colorado, as well as a variety of other publicly funded health care programs for Colorado’s low-income individuals, families, children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with disabilities.
Staff from SLI’s Center for Systems Integrity (CSI) are performing monthly reviews of multiple MMIS modules, the recently re-platformed eligibility system and customer portal, as well as the Joint Agency Interoperability project which is focused on data sharing and interoperability between health and human services agencies and programs. SLI uses the most recent releases of the toolkits and direction from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for reporting to ensure CMS is informed of project health status, risk management and mitigation activities.

SLI is now providing support for the system certification process in ten states: AZ, CO, HI, MS, ND, NJ, PA, PR, SC, and WY. SLI’s IV&V team will be leveraging the lessons learned in these other states to assist Colorado in preparing for CMS certification and in responding to CMS Certification findings.
