Authentic leadership in action.
What does it look like when a leader brings their full, authentic self to the conversation? Public Knowledge® (PK) President and CEO Stacey Moss explores this in her recent appearance on the You Gotta Meet! podcast with Stuart Knight.
From Music to Justice to Leadership
Growing up, Stacey Moss dreamed of being a music teacher. Somewhere along the way, she became an investigator at a public defender’s office and fell in love with justice. Eventually, she became an attorney. Then she chose to walk away from practicing law to become a management consultant.

“I had the brain to be an attorney, but it didn’t fit into my values. It didn’t fit into my core of how I want to work with people, and who I want to work with. There was such a mismatch. And it wasn’t that I couldn’t do it, but it was taking so much of my energy and motivation to try and force that to work for me,” said Stacey.
Letting Go of “Shoulds” and Leading with Intention
In this episode of You Gotta Meet! with Stuart Knight, Stacey reflects on what it means to lead with intention, to let go of “shoulds,” and to reconnect with purpose.
“It is okay to reinvent ourselves and to become a different version of ourselves, no matter what other people think we should be doing with our lives,” said Stuart Knight.
Creating a Culture of Belonging
Stacey talks openly about the culture she is hoping to build at PK.
“The biggest thing for me in getting to lead this company is: how do I create a culture in which everyone feels seen and valued and can show up authentically every day… internally, a place where people can rely on each other, where they know I have their back,” said Stacey.
Her vision includes a foundation of emotional intelligence, trust, and making space for people to be fully human in the workplace.
