Jeff Pearson, a management consultant at Public Knowledge®, is dedicated to expanding his expertise based on not only projects he is working on but exploring more of his interests. Using his professional development time and funds, he has secured two relevant certifications, the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master and CompTIA Network+ certifications, that will be helpful to current and future clients.
Disciplined Agile Scrum Master Certification
Jeff is already working on several projects using an Agile methodology and took the opportunity to better understand the process and provide more valuable feedback. According to Jeff, it is not productive to instruct clients to do things a certain way just because it is how we have done it in the past.

Additionally, Jeff saw how this particular certification blends a number of disciplines together. The Disciplined Agile Scrum Master certification draws on Lean, Theory of Constraints, and Agile.
CompTIA Network+ Certification
In his work with clients, Jeff regularly does system security plan reviews. Having this additional expertise with these certifications allows him to provide additional context, in addition to generally being interested in computer security.

This in-depth certification involved 20 hours of online videos and working through a 900-page study guide. Building on his CompTIA A+ certification, he is a CompTIA IT Operations Specialist.
