United States – October 7, 2024 – Public Knowledge® (PK) has partnered with Lac Courte Oreilles Child Support Services (LCO-CSP) for the NextGen Employment and Training Services federal demonstration grant. Over the next five years, this initiative aims to expand and improve child support-led employment services for noncustodial parents within the tribe. The initiative also intends to enhance reliable child support payments and advance the financial well-being of children and families in the LCO-CSP community.

“We are honored to support LCO-CSP in their mission to strengthen child support services,” said Child Support Industry Director Matt Sautter at Public Knowledge®. “This project is a meaningful step toward helping parents overcome employment barriers, increasing their ability to provide for their children and support their families.” 

The project’s first phase aims to expand LCO-CSP’s capacity to provide employment and training services to unemployed and underemployed noncustodial parents. It focuses on improving access to employment services and forming partnerships with community organizations and third-party service providers. The initiative also seeks to expand child support collections to provide consistent support for children. Additionally, the program will emphasize peer-learning opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery, with LCO-CSP playing a central role in shaping these efforts.

PK has supported the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services Caddo Parish since 2021 by evaluating and implementing its employment and training program efforts. PK also completed a comprehensive family-centered child support operational assessment. This invaluable expertise allows PK to be a dependable partner for LCO-CSP.
