SLI Supports Local Charity at the Annual Human Services IT Conference in Seattle, WA

SILVER SPRING, MD (October 25, 2018)  SLI Government Solutions was a proud exhibitor and active participant at this year’s American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) IT Solutions Management (ISM) Conference. The theme of the 2018 ISM Conference was “Moving the Needle with Sound Solutions” and each year part of the goal of this conference is to support local organizations that are making a difference for people in need. This year the ISM committee selected the Compass Housing Alliance (CHA). CHA provides shelter and support services to people experiencing homelessness and poverty in the Puget Sound area. The goal was to raise $20,000 for this worthy cause. Through the generosity of the vendor and government staff in attendance over $16,000 was donated. At the conclusion of the conference, the organizing committee sent out a note explaining this shortfall and asked for help filling the gap.

SLI’s Culture of Giving Back in the Communities We Serve

After confirming the shortfall amount of $3200, SLI made the decision to donate the entire difference, so that CHA would reach their goal.  SLI’s commitment to helping government agencies improve service delivery is borne from a sincere belief in the importance of the public receiving the products and services needed to lead healthy, safe and productive lives. This commitment extends beyond providing high quality consulting services, but into giving back in the communities we serve. SLI has donated computers to schools, supported wounded warrior charities, contributed to food drives, and actively participates in charitable giving programs sponsored by industry work groups. SLI Director of Business Development, Mark Joyce, a member of the HSITAG Charitable Giving Committee, personally donated over $500.00. “It is my pleasure and honor to support this worthy cause”, said Mark, “SLI has always made it a priority to help those in need and I am proud to be part of an organization that cares so much about giving to those less fortunate.”

Compass Housing Alliance’s Reaction

Andrew Lyon, Stewardship Manager for the Compass Housing Alliance, sent a personal note of thanks to SLI for our support. SLI also received a big THANK YOU “for the amazing generosity of SLI and our personal commitment to the CHA campaign” from Donna Jarvis-Miller, Director, Membership and Events of the APHSA.
