National Reunification Month recognizes the ongoing effort of child welfare professionals and agencies to help children, youth, and their parents reunify safely and timely. Public Knowledge® believes reunification is the permanency option children and families must achieve, and it begins with shifting power back to families.
We believe a future is possible for parents, children, and youth involved in our child welfare system to have the justice they deserve, prioritizing child and family well-being. Through our Child Welfare Vision and Strategies, we focus on preventive services to end the unnecessary separation of children from their families. Our Child Welfare experts at Public Knowledge® strive to radically transform the child welfare system for families who have contacted the system. In doing so, one of our goals is to end family separation unless necessary. National Reunification Month is a national call to action we firmly believe in.
