The Center for the Support of Families division of SLI awarded Child Support contract with Yolo County, CA

Note: On January 1, 2021, Public Knowledge, LLC merged with the Center for System Integrity (CSI) and the Center for the Support of Families (CSF), formerly part of SLI Government Solutions (SLI), to form Public Knowledge®. This merger united three leaders in management consulting, enhancing expertise, and expanding services. CSI adds IT consulting capabilities in project oversight, quality assurance, and security assessments, while CSF brings proven strategies to improve service delivery systems for children and families. Together, Public Knowledge® focuses on Programs, People, and Systems to deliver impactful solutions nationwide.

United States – May 2, 2019 – SLI’s CSF Division is pleased to report that it has been awarded a contract to assist three California counties with an assessment of their child support programs to seek greater efficiencies. The Center for the Support of Families (CSF) announces they have been selected to lead an assessment of the child support programs in the California counties of Colusa, Sutter, and Yolo. CSF has completed similar assessments for Santa Clara County’s (CA) child support program, as well as for the states of Louisiana and North Carolina.

Working with child support program staff and leadership, CSF will complete a program assessment designed to identify ways for the three counties to improve their delivery of services to the families and children in the child support program. The project also includes assessing whether program services could be delivered more efficiently through a regionalized approach.

CSF staff are conducting staff interviews, observing court, and reviewing policy and procedural documentation for the three counties’ programs, to document the “As Is” for the programs. Using their strong national presence, CSF will also be looking for proven practices from jurisdictions around the country, to help develop recommendations for the counties’ consideration. The project will culminate with an Envisioning Session, designed to help the three counties’ child support professionals determine their ultimate “To Be” – to improve child support service delivery in their communities.

The assessment is expected to be completed in Spring 2020.  “The counties of Colusa, Sutter and Yolo are excited to be on the cutting edge of seeking efficiencies in a government framework.  Our goal is to deliver excellent child support services with our limited resources. CSF, with their knowledge of national best practices is an outstanding partner in this endeavor,” said Natalie Dillon, Director of Colusa, Sutter and Yolo Child Support Services.
